We wish to thank our sponsors and media sponsors, as well as all the individuals, bidders and sellers, for their generosity. The proceeds of each item auctioned or sold will go towards the work of HOPE International Development Agency around the world. The organizers of this website trust that participants will enjoy the items that are to be purchased or won via auction and will bid in a spirit of helping the poor.
Important Note: By placing a bid, the bidder is agreeing to the Auction Terms and Conditions listed below as well as the terms and conditions specific to that item as outlined in the item's listing.

Auction Terms and Conditions:
1. The HOPE Travel and Leisure Auction is open from 14th March noon to 21st March 6 PM and is part of the HOPE at the Hilton Week. The listing term of each auction item will be specific to that item.

2. All values are expressed in Japanese Yen.

3. Participants bid by using the Bid Now button and sending an email to bids@hope.or.jp specifying their full contact details (Name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail), the item they want to bid on (title + reference code), and the bid they are prepared to pay.

4. EVERY BID is subject to verification. HOPE reserves the right not to post bids if there is doubt about its authenticity or sincerity.

5. This is a blind auction and the highest bid for each item will be revealed at the end of the auction during the week of 22nd March 2010. All bids will be digitally stored and undisclosed until the closing of the auction.

6. Auction winners will be notified within 48 to 72 hours of the auction's closing. The full payment, including administrative charge (see below), must be made within 7 days of  notification.
     In the case of non-payment, the next highest bidder will be notified as the winner.

7. Bidders must be 20 years of age or older.

8. Payment may be made by bank/post office transfer to HOPE Japan, or by using a credit card. (Visa, Master, American Express, JCB, Diners)

9. The item will be mailed to the winner once payment is confirmed. 
For each item there will be an administrative charge of JPY 1,500 (domestic) or JPY 5,000 (overseas). This charge is for shipping, handling and insurance, and may be subject to increase depending on the weight of the prize. The winner will be notified of any administrative charge changes.

10. The HOPE Privacy Policy applies to this HOPE Auction. 

11. Court Jurisdiction: All controversies and disputes, arising out of or relating to the terms and conditions of this auction shall be submitted to the Nagoya District Court of Japan as the first court of instance.

12. Governing Law: The terms and conditions of this auction shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan unless otherwise expressly provided.

13. Cautions on International Use: Recognizing the global nature of the internet, users must comply with the laws and regulations of the countries and territories in which they use the internet regarding online conduct and acceptable content. Specifically, users agree to comply with laws relating to the export of technology when sending (transmitting) technical information from their country of residence to another country.
