HOPE International Development Agency's vision is to extend compassion to the neglected poor.
HOPE International Development Agency is a confederation of nine independent organizations working closely together along with local partners throughout the world to make poverty history. Since 1975, HOPE International Development Agency has been extending compassion to the world's poorest in a continued effort to create a sustainable solution to poverty and create a world where people have healthy lives and futures. HOPE established itself in Japan after the 2000 earthquake in India spurred actions to help those in need. HOPE International Development Agency Japan has been in activity since 2004 and is a registered Non-profit with the Japanese Government as well as a member of the Nagoya NGO Center.
Working in Africa, Asia, and the Americas HOPE International undertakes and supports people-oriented projects which creates long-term sustaining benefits for people by teaching them income generating skills and further developing family and community infrastructures, such as clean water, education, disease prevention and sustainable agriculture. The projects of HOPE are accomplished with the help of volunteers and the skills of the local people, combined with the volunteers and the charity of people in Japan who care. Our mission is to help people in Japan and other parts of the developed world connect in a meaningful way with people in the poorest communities of the developing world through compassionate giving, understanding and education. Through education we encourage the developed world public to increase their understanding that proving an opportunity for 'self-help' is paramount for sustainable economic development.
