Killer earthquake strikes near Port-au-Prince...
emergency supplies are needed right away.
A massive earthquake has struck near Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince, destroying major infrastructure, collapsing thousands of buildings, and killing or injuring an untold number of Haitians.More than 3 million people, nearly a third of the nation's desperately poor population, are affected by the disaster - the largest earthquake to strike Haiti in 200 years.
The damage is massive. Thousands are feared dead and the number of injured could reach staggering proportions as information begins to filter out of the nation in the aftermath of the disaster.
HOPE International Development Agency is rushing emergency supplies to the stricken city and its devastated population.

HAITI EMERGENCY APPEAL - January 19, 2010 Update
With an estimated 200,000 dead, 250,000 injured and 1.5 million homeless in the aftermath of a massive earthquake, more emergency supplies are urgently needed.
Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas remain caught in the grip of a horrific disaster, the likes of which has never been seen in the impoverished nation of Haiti.
HOPE International Development Agency has been working alongside the people of Haiti for many years, supporting an orphanage and two hospitals that serve the poorest families in the areas surrounding Port-au-Prince.
HOPE International Development Agency is rushing emergency supplies to survivors in the stricken city and surrounding areas, including medical supplies and medicines that are so urgently needed right now.
