Charity Dinners (or Galas) are an important part of HOPE's strategy in Japan.

 

It fits with our relational model of building support for extremely poor families struggling to become self reliant.

 

While the evening includes great food, an auction, a raffle and wonderful entertainment, at the very core is the premiere of a short film. This year the film features a wonderful woman named Toek Ouen, who just five years ago was landless, penniless and hopeless. Today she is happily self reliant, thanks to a cow and a well made possible by supporters of HOPE.

 

You will also hear first-hand accounts of the delegations that visited Mrs. Toek (at their own expense) from the Kansai, Chubu and Tokyo areas. One delegation of JP businessmen produced their own Photo album of their journey.
