HOPE-JP is all about linking up people who live in Japan with people who live in the developing world.

 

Since it began in 1975, HOPE International has helped over 13 million people climb out of debilitating poverty. By becoming a partner you will help extend HOPE to those who are in desperate need of it.

 

HOPE-JP believes that clean water is the basis from which education, employment, health care and sustainable food production can be developed. Those who benefit the most from our work are women, as they are the ones who suffer the most from the lack of water and education. A woman in a poor rural area of Africa or Asia may have to walk up to five kilometers to collect water and this water is often full of deadly bacteria that could slowly be killing her children. Spring capping and the drilling of wells nearer to the village or within the village confines, enables women to have several hours a day available to be educated, grow cash crops, and gain employment. HOPE-JP helps to empower people with water supply projects.

 

There are several levels at which you can become a partner. All support levels require a financial commitment as ultimately money is necessary to help people climb out of extreme and life-threatening poverty. But whether you are an unemployed student or run a multi-million dollar company, there is a way for you to be involved.  If you are considering becoming a HOPE-JP partner, we would like you to consider being a partner for five years or more. We require no contract to be signed and you can opt out at any time you want to but as development work takes time and much planning is required in advance, a longer-term commitment really helps us.

 

NGOs still have a short history of operation in Japan. If you become part of the HOPE-JP family, you will be part of a growing organization that is a leader in the NGO field in Japan.
