1. A journey to Cambodia

Kansai Gala Chair Paul Dupuis, from Wall Street Associates and Kansai Gala Corporate Sponsor Stefan Kischka of TUV Rheinland visited project sites in Cambodia in January with Lowell Sheppard.
 
They visited the CHIN LIP family who were featured on the 2008 video and whose lives have been greatly improved as the result of a HOPE Well and the loan of Cow. They also met need families on the waiting list for wells in 2009 which will be funded by Japan donors.
 
"I had no reason to doubt the effectiveness of HOPE projects, but seeing first hand the dramatic difference clean water makes in the lives of the extreme poor makes me want to redouble our efforts to help as many families has possible."

2. HOPE's Corporate Lunch

On the 12th of February long time corporate supporters of HOPE, the HOPE Board members and HOPE staff gathered at Shooters for the presentation of the 2008 Annual Report and a lovely lunch donated by Shooters.
 
In the 2007-2008 fiscal year HOPE registered the biggest growth since its establishment in Japan in 2004. In 2009 we are looking to expand HOPE's presence on the web with a new website, start a new membership and partnership program, as well as new events.
 

3. HOPE's Charity Galas Nagoya and Osaka, 6th and 7th of March

This year HOPE is organizing three Charity Dinners and Galas in Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo, an important time to share with our sponsors and supporters information of our projects and programs and also an important event for HOPE as about one third of HOPE's Annual Budget comes from these events.
 
HOPE staff is hard at work preparing this event, looking for sponsors, procuring raffle prizes and getting all the details just right so that we can share a memorable evening with our HOPE friends.

If you are interested in helping HOPE in its busiest time of year please consider volunteering at our events. We are looking for people who would like to help us in the preparation of these events as well as during the events. Join the HOPE staff in these very fun events!
