Thoughts on Cambodia

Dear HOPE Supporter,
Your giving makes a difference. This summer I have seen afresh with my own eyes, what effect a compassionate gift makes for a very poor family in Cambodia.
Recently, at our final Board meeting for this Financial year (HOPE financial year is from Oct 1 - Sept 30) a commitment was made to 500 families in the Kravanah district of Pursat Province, Cambodia to partner with them in their quest out of poverty. The two year program involves 100 wells, a school, access to microcredit etc. These families are relying on us give them their opp to become self reliant.
We can do this together. To be a HOPE Member only costs 1,000 yen a month. Is that too much to ask for literally saving 3-4 lives a year from perpetual illness, debilitating poverty and dispair? I do not think so.

PS: It's great to see the energy of the students at Yokohama International School and Nanzan Kokusai as they gear up for a year of fundraising. Their concern for the poor and commitment to do something about it is infectious!

HOPE Night in Nagoya
October HOPE Night will be held on October 6th (Tues).
HOPE Night in Osaka
Lowell Sheppard and Paul Dupuis will host a HOPE information night at the Hilton Hotel at 6.30pm on October 20th as they plan their next trip to Cambodia in January 2010 to visit HOPE's projects there. Photos and stories from their 2009 trip to Cambodia will be on hand. The next trip to Cambodia will be a chance to meet the families firsthand who are recipents of a well, and/or participating in HOPE's Cow Bank program. All are welcome to attend this FREE event and learn more about HOPE.
HOPE Night in Tokyo
HOPE is joining forces with the Pink Cow in Tokyo for a special event called Cows for Cows!

HOPE Charity Golf Tournament in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya

World Festa
HOPE in the World Collaboration Festa 2009 - October 24th and 25th
HOPE International will participate this year in the World Collaboration Festa, a festival which focuses on international exchange, international cooperation and multicultural coexistence. This is one of the largest events of its kind in the Chubu region.
This year’s Festa will take place October 24th and 25th from 10 am to 6 pm in Oasis 21 in Sakae.
Come visit us and enjoy the many events and performances throughout the two days!
