Thoughts for Autumn

A message from Lowell Sheppard

Dear Friend,

I trust you are enjoying this beautiful time of year. The colors are changing and it is a time to enjoy beauty. I was reminded recently of the role of beauty in life. I met a woman who said that since she received her HOPE well and was able leave extreme poverty behind, she is now able to not only plant vegetables to eat and sell but also to enjoy the flowers in her garden. Five years ago she lived in despair, today her life is full of joy and promise made possible by people like you who care.

October was a busy month for HOPE in Chubu and Kansai with many successful events and gatherings. November will be busy for HOPE in Kanto. You find news of these events and upcoming events by following the links below. Please also check out the Gift Catalogue for your holiday shopping. You can give a gift in someone else's name knowing that your gift has changed a life.

Also, we are really pleased to launch our auction site this month with the theme of Snow. Burton has donated some great snowboarding gear for men and women and you will see various winter holidays that can be won including adventures at the popular Northstar in Norikura and Evergreen in Hakuba.
Check it out at www.hope-auction.com

Thanks for caring about the poor and doing something about it.

Lowell
