The Overall Goals of HOPE in Japan are:

1. To assist the neglected poor in the developing world to help themselves
2. To encourage the development of the whole person 
3. To inform and educate residents of Japan regarding issues related to the developing world
4. To motivate residents of Japan to action in material and moral support of the poor
5. To facilitate and provide the mechanism for active participation of residents of Japan and the neglected poor.
