HOPE UNION

Volunteer Overseas and Experience a HOPE Project First-Hand

Sometimes the best way to gain a deeper understanding of what really matters in life is to embrace a different life, leaving behind what you know in order to learn what you really need to know about yourself.

Living in a developed country like Japan, for all that we have, we do not have the one thing that can bring our lives into perspective - a personal experience with the poor.

UNION is an acronym for "Understanding Needs in Other Nations". This program offers people a chance to become part of life in a developing country, to see the real difficulties faced everyday, and to learn why HOPE plays such an important role in changing people's lives. What the participants have in common with each other is that they care.

UNION has enabled hundreds of young people to experience life with struggling families in some of the poorest countries in the world.

My trip to Cambodia with UNION, labouring alongside the poor, sharing meals with them, sharing their struggles and celebrations with them, and experiencing their passion for life, changed my own life and the way I see the world.

HOPE provides a unique opportunity to help developing nations and assist them in education, health, agriculture, business, and YES, you can make a difference.
