We are pleased to report that approximately 750,000 JPY was raised, to date, at this year's event. Despite the economic times we find ourselves in, it is gratifying that people have stepped forward to do something good and help those who will suffer the most from this global downturn. As a result of this generosity, several families will be benefit from clean water.
Once again, we would like to thank all our generous sponsors who donated prizes for this event which made a great contribution against poverty:

Mark your calendars! The next Golf Tournament will take place in Spring 2010, so we hope to see you all there! Thanks to all the participants for their support of HOPE International.

Since August 2009, 16 students from Nanzan Kokusai High School have signed up for a student group membership, calling themselves HOPE@Nanzan. They have agreed on a fundraising goal for this year in order to buy a cow for a Cambodian family : 80,000 yen !
These outstanding and committed new HOPE members are already starting to work hard to raise awareness of HOPE activities and of the basic needs that the poor must fulfill.
Their first event has been to participate to the school's annual Culture Festival (Bunkasai) on October 3 & 4, raising money to buy a cow for a Cambodian family. And they managed to raise already 30,000 yen towards their goal! Congratulations!

Their English teacher, Mr. Gallacher (Nanzan Staff/HOPE International Liaison), is guiding them passionately towards their goal and can be reached at hopeatnanzan@gmail.com.
