Press Releases from HOPE

November 6, 2009

If you’ve been thinking about purchasing some artwork for yourself or even as a Christmas present for someone special, then we would like to invite you to an art fundraiser that one of our supporters is hosting for us on Saturday 28th November.

The reception will be held at Hewett Art Gallery from 7 ‘till 9pm, in Mita, Tokyo. There will be a variety of paintings and ceramics on display, ranging in price from ¥100,000 to ¥2 million, and 25% of the value of any artwork sold will be donated straight to us.

The artist David Hewett will be there to answer questions about his work, as will our supporter and host, Caroline Pover. Caroline will be providing champagne, and a HOPE representative will be on hand to talk about some recent projects.

We hope that you may find this special event provides an opportunity to adorn the walls of your home with artwork that will bring HOPE to those we try to help get out of extreme poverty.

CAROLINE'S INVITATION

When my husband and I got married four years ago, instead of buying a wedding cake, we decided that we would donate the money to a charity that we had recently become aware of, and were both quite touched by. We were especially struck by HOPE International’s commitment to ensuring that communities throughout Africa, Asia, and the Americas, had access to the most basic of needs ... clean water. We invited our wedding guests to support HOPE too, and I am now inviting you to also support HOPE at a special event I am hosting at Hewett Art Gallery in November.

If you've been thinking about purchasing some artwork for yourself or even as a Christmas present for someone special, then why not do so and support HOPE at the same time?! I am holding a special reception at the gallery, on Saturday 28th November, from 7 'till 9pm, where 25% of the value of any artwork sold will be donated straight to HOPE, and I would very much like for you to join us. There will be a variety of paintings and ceramics on display, ranging in price from ¥100,000 to ¥2 million.

Champagne will be provided, and a HOPE representative will be on hand to tell us more about the projects they have been involved in during the past thirty years. You can see some of Hewett’s art at www.davidstanleyhewett.com.

Please let me know if you would like to come along!
