Japan Coast 2 Coast

Three Nagoya Residents, took a weeks holiday in June 1st-8th and successfully completed a coast to coast bike challenge in a sponsored challenge to provide clean water for poor families in Cambodia.
 
Tony Torres, Mark McBennett, and HOPE's very own Lowell Sheppard, pedaled their way from the Pacific to the Japan Sea at Japan's widest point and over some of Japan's highest and toughest mountain roads. They cycled just over 500 kms, and climbed an aggregate 8 vertical kilometers.
 
So far they have raised over 600,000 yen which will change the lives of about 30 families. You can see photos and read more about their journey at their blog www.japanc2c.com .
 
They are planning to organize a Team Coast to Coast Challenge in aid of HOPE in Sept 2011. If you are interested in forming a team of 3-6 cyclists please contact them through their blog.
