UNION trips are now being planned for Cambodia and the Philippines in summer 2010. Essentially these trips are study tours in which you will learn about the issues facing extremely poor communities and be involved in a solution. The Philippines trip will also feature an English study component.
 
The Cambodia trip will likely be for 7 days and the Philippines will be for 15 to18 days.
 
In both cases, participants are expected to cover all of their own expenses and also raise a minimum of ¥50,000 for the cost of the actual project which usually involves constructing a building of some sort such as a school, clinic, or community centre.
 
The exact details (dates, costs, and project area) are being decided at the moment, and we will post those details as soon as we have them.
